The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, visited this morning the bookstore and gambling store “El Faro de Los Tres Mundo” in A Coruña, where she wanted to add value and encourage the girls and boys born in 2006 to apply for the Young Cultural Bonus.
The Government’s Young Cultural Bonus is available so that girls and boys who turn 18 in this 2024 can apply for it until November 16, through the website. http://www.bonoculturajoven.gob.es/ . There are 8,985 boys and girls born in 2006 in the province who could get their bonus, with which the maximum contribution could reach 3,578,000 euros. In the city of A Coruña, where this campaign was presented today, there are 1,971 people born in 2006, the only requirement to be able to be beneficiaries.
They are a total of 400 euros that are divided into 3 sections to promote access to various cultural expressions. Specifically, they are:
- 200 euros for living arts, cultural heritage and audiovisuals
- 100 euros for cultural products in physical support such as books, magazines, press, video games, disks, among others
- 100 euros for digital consumptions such as subscriptions to music platforms, audiobooks, digital press, online video games, download of podcasts, among others
The subdelegate indicated that, last year, in the province of A Coruña, the number of boys and girls who obtained the voucher also rose to 66%, representing 6,474 people out of a total of 8,816 potential consumers. In Galicia, the Young Cultural Voucher issued by the Ministry of Culture reached 15,339 people in 2023, all born in 2005.
María Rivas stressed the importance of the cultural bond, highlighting the positive impact it has both on youth and on cultural industries. This justifies that in the last edition its scope multiplied both in the number of beneficiaries and in the number of entities and businesses adhered.
Thus establishments such as El Faro de Los Tres Mundo, with shops in Santiago and A Coruña, can benefit from the aid. To do this, they requested their adhesion in this third edition where there are 282 establishments that joined in Galicia, of which 115 are in the province of A Coruña.
In its first edition, the Young Cultural Bond injected 1.9 million euros into the Community’s cultural industries and businesses through its 50,000 sales operations. The subdelegate encouraged the 21,392 Galicians and Galicians who turn 18 years of age in this 2024 to get their bonus before November 16 .
María Rivas indicated that the objective of the Ministry of Culture with this initiative has a double meaning: on the one hand, to show the interest of a wide spectrum of the girl population in culture, that this initiative helps to build loyalty as a cultural public and consumer for the future; and, on the other hand, it offers additional support to the cultural sector.
