The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, encouraged the Food Cluster of Galicia (Clusaga) to participate in the second call for the Agri-food Perte, endowed with 300 million euros of budget to favor the reindustrialization of Galicia. It did so during the presentation of SmarTZ4milk, the project of the Food Cluster of Galicia for the promotion of the dairy sector. The event was attended by the president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda; the director of the technical office of the PERTE Agroalimentary, Galo Gutiérrez, and the president of the Clusaga, Juanjo de la Cerda.
Pedro Blanco celebrated during the presentation of the SmarTZ4milk project “the great step forward” that its creation represents for the present and future of the Galician dairy industry, “which is strategic and fundamental in our land”. The government delegate highlighted the value of action and the work of the Lence Group for the progress of this pioneering initiative, which he congratulated along with the other companies and institutions that promote it.
“Its commitment to the Galician milk sector is clear when promoting SmarTZ4milk, as well as that of the Government, which allocates almost 10 million euros through the Agri-food PERTE, in order to transform and improve this industry,” said the delegate, who also wanted to exemplify with this milestone the transforming and renovating capacity that the Recovery Plan has on the business fabric of Galicia.
“This is a true example of what an entire industry united and with the support of the Government can achieve, creating synergies between the academic, scientific, economic and industrial world that result in the benefit of all Galicians,” said Pedro Blanco. He highlighted the challenges facing the Galician agri-food sector, “a reference in Europe”, such as moving towards sustainable, competitive and profitable production models. “On that path you will find, to promote it, the Government of Spain.”
Pedro Blanco recalled the effort made by the Government, “since in recent years more than 187 million euros have been invested in the primary sector in direct aid to alleviate the increases in costs derived from extraordinary situations.” The delegate highlighted the Government’s commitment to a National Food Strategy that ensures access “to healthy food, produced in a sustainable way and that is accessible to the whole population, and in which Galicia has much to say”. For this purpose, the distribution of the funds of the Recovery Plan is being managed, from which more than 31,000 Galician companies are already benefiting.
