The government delegate in Galicia highlighted the normality and absence of incidents in the constitution of the 3,922 electoral tables that will host the elections to the European Parliament in Galicia today. The last table to be constituted was in Ponteareas (Pontevedra), after a few minutes of nine in the morning. In this case, the Xunta Electoral is analyzing the extension of the day.
Pedro Blanco thanked the work of all the people who collaborate today for the normal development of this process and who add up to more than 21,000 among the citizens who are part of the electoral tables, personnel of the Delegation and subdelegations of the Government and of the State Security Forces and local police.
The first tables to be constituted were made at 8 in the morning at the Cultural Center of San Paio (Ascendant-Pontevedra), in the Aresana Alliance (Ares-A Coruña), and we get off the school group of Xunqueira de Espadañedo (Ourense). The first table to be constituted in the province of Lugo was with the Social Center of Toimil, in Xove.
Ourense was the first province to have constituted its 531 electoral tables with the table of the School of Ganad, in Xinzo de Limia. Lugo closed the constitution of its 527 tables with that of the School of Carracedo, in the City of Lancara. A Coruña closed the constitution of its 1,517 tables with those of CEIP Victor López Seoane, in the city of A Coruña.
Electoral data in Galicia
In these elections 2,702,442 Galicians and Galicians will be able to participate, of which 109,690 will do so for the first time in a European election having reached the age of 18 since the last appointment of this process. Of the total, 7,459 are citizens of the European Union residing in Galicia and 480,221 represent Galicians and Galicians living outside the Spanish borders.
In terms of logistics, Galicia has 3,922 tables distributed in 2,337 electoral venues. These tables are attended by 11,766 people chosen by lot. To these must be added the 311 employees of the Government Delegation and the subdelegations that during this day are attending the incidents and the 2,547 representatives of the Administration in the electoral colleges, who are the people in charge of publicizing the final results of the votes and the data of participation throughout the day.
In addition, to ensure that the right to vote is exercised in Galicia normally, the Government deploys more than 7,000 agents: 2.101 from the National Police; 4.278 from the Civil Guard and 996 from the Local Police.
Results
There will be two advances in participation: at 14 and 18 hours. At 20 hours the tables will be closed and the counting will begin, adding the votes made at the table with the incorporation of the votes cast by mail. The representatives of the Administration present at the tables will carry out the communication of the results of each table. From 23:00, the provisional data can be consulted through the web of results of the elections to the European Parliament and the mobile application enabled by the Ministry of the Interior.
