Abel Losada encourages cyber-expert schoolchildren to train their parents, mothers, grandparents and grandmothers at home about the dangers of the internet

The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, gave today the cards of “cyberexpert” the one dozen students of Fifth and Sixth of the Primary School and ESO Juan Sebastián Elcano, of Pontevedra, who overcame the training actions on cybersecurity framed in the Master Plan for Security and Coexistence in Educational Centers.
Accompanied by the director of the educational center, the captain of the ship Ignacio Santamaría, the subdelegate congratulated the students for completing this course, emphasizing the importance of knowing not only the advantages, but also the risks involved in the use of technologies. During the event, in which the inspector-chief Luis Velayos and the team of the Plan Director of the Pontevedra Police Station also participated, in addition to the teaching staff, Losada encouraged the boys and girls to transmit the knowledge acquired about the dangers of cybercrime to the rest of the students of the school, as well as to their family environment, especially their parents and grandparents and grandmothers.
Finally, Abel Losada highlighted the success of the Master Plan for coexistence in schools, the project that welcomes the initiative of the “cyberexperts”. He recalled that based on the cooperation between Administrations, Security Forces and Bodies and the educational community, this plan grew by 80% in the last year in the province of Pontevedra, reaching 34,500 students. “Behind this success there is a political commitment on the part of the government and a human effort on the part of the security forces that I want to recognize again,” he said, while committing to “continue working to promote culture and security among the school population.”
