The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, informed today that the 13,750 neighbors of the municipalities adhered to the new program of the Tax Agency to make the income declaration by video chat can already request their appointment. This initiative will allow 19 Lucan municipalities of less than 3,000 inhabitants to offer people over 65 years of age a face-to-face service in the town hall to present their declaration.
Isabel Rodríguez stressed the will of the Government to “bring the General Administration of the State closer to the citizens, facilitating and providing assistance to the elderly in their face-to-face efforts.” In addition, he explained that this new service is in addition to the existing ones such as the “Administration near you” or the program of rural posters, both in order to make the rural neighborhood, especially the older one, know and have the possibility to carry out procedures from their locality.
The Portuguese municipalities that will provide this service from May 7 are Abadín, Antas de Ulla, As Nogais, Baleira, Baralla, Begonte, Carballedo, Láncara, Navia de Suarna, O Incio, O Vicedo, Pantón, A Pobra do Brollón, Pol, Riotorto, Samos, Sober, Trabada and Xermade.
The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo thanked the predisposition of these municipalities to participate in this pioneering proposal of the AEAT, providing spaces for the taxpayers to make the videochamadas. At the moment, this initiative is in a first pilot phase, so that more municipalities of the 158 that make up the calls of Demographic Challenge in Galicia will be able to join the program as well.
Program operation
The appointment for the service of preparation of statements by videochamada can be requested from 29 April , starting the service as such on 7 May. Requests for appointments can be made in the respective county councils and through the electronic headquarters of the Tax Agency, along with the other advisory services it offers. No time when a neighbor of these municipalities requests an appointment to make the income declaration, they will be offered to make it through video chat. With the appointment already in hand, they will only have to approach the city council to be attended by staff of the Tax Agency.
