The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, today entrusted David Regades to continue promoting the Free Trade Zone to consolidate his position as “engine of Vigo, source of wealth of Galicia and industrial and business reference of Spain”. He did so in the act of taking office of David Regades as special delegate of the State in the Consortium of the Free Zone of Vigo.
Pedro Blanco picked up the motto that promoted the birth of this territory in the surroundings of the city of Vigo in the 40s and personified in David Regades the materialization of these foundational objectives.
The delegate insisted that David Regades’ second-time appointment to the position is the “best recognition of the work and dedication for this project.” He recalled that during the previous mandate, Zona Franca symbolically left the port area to bring it closer to the citizens of Vigo and the business community of the rest of Galicia.
With regard to the city of which he is part, Pedro Blanco affirmed that “it was the decision and the impulse in the management of David Regades that took the Zona Franca to the heart of Vigo and those that made it one more protagonist in the life of the men and women of this city and its environment”. This work was completed with the commitment of the delegate to get companies and entrepreneurs from outside Vigo “to start looking at the Free Trade Zone as a place of business expansion”. “And it did so by going outside that closed port enclosure and taking to the cities of the rest of Galicia the opportunities offered by the Free Zone to invest, innovate or trade,” he added.
The government delegate showed his conviction in the commitment and worth of David Regades, “as well as in the political impulse of the president of the Consortium and mayor, Abel Caballero,” to continue building “this great city, a great area and a great Galicia.”
