The Government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, encourages citizens from the Coruña branch of the Bank of Spain to participate in the program ‘Finance for all’, consisting of courses and formations that instruct in a basic and practical way in financial education. Pedro Blanco, accompanied by the deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, and by the director of the branch of the Bank of Spain in A Coruña, Francisco Javier Bernardo, highlighted the importance of initiatives such as this, which aim to guarantee social inclusion and citizen training, thus avoiding fraud and scams, and allowing in a simple way the population to have more control over the use of their savings, investments and expenses.
The government delegate stressed the importance of an initiative like ‘Finance for All’ for citizenship, “as it empowers people, especially the most vulnerable, to make informed decisions about their finances, allowing them to have greater control over their economic future.” The positive effects of this plan are already noticeable, therefore, adding all the initiatives, the Bank of Spain’s Coruña headquarters already has 500 beneficiaries of its training in Galicia. Pedro Blanco stressed the positive impact that the program has on young people, “who can find in this initiative a reference to create savings habits from early ages and begin to build a solid financial future both individually and for society as a whole.”
Pedro Blanco was satisfied with the impact that the program has in Galicia. “It shows that the Government of Spain cares about the economy of people in the short, medium and long term, given that financial education not only benefits people in the present, but also lays the foundation for more prosperous and financially responsible future generations.”
The training sessions offered by the Bank of Spain include all kinds of aspects related to personal finance planning, including knowledge of bank accounts and means of payment, financing options, fraud prevention, e-commerce management, cryptoassets or investment advice, among others.
Within its application, the plan includes all kinds of tools, since there are not only courses and workshops, but also the financial culture is transmitted through guides and resources oriented to the most daily tasks. In addition, innovative formats are also taken into account, such as the podcast, which make learning easier and bring them closer to all kinds of groups.
The Government, through the Bank of Spain and the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), is taking the initiative to all parts of Galicia, moving its formations to remote population centers in collaboration with the Galician Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEGAMP), recording the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to the demographic challenge by guaranteeing a rural with present and with future.
Hundreds of beneficiaries
Pedro Blanco stressed that the headquarters of the Bank of Spain, the only one that the central bank has in Galicia, intends to reach 800 people with these training initiatives until June of this year and comes from launching the ‘Action C’ initiative, which offers online workshops to prepare future trainers in financial education. This means that the impact of these courses is multiplied, as they educate educators.
Without going any further, it was this program of the Government that trained the teachers who teach in the Galician secondary schools the subject of Financial Culture. Public employees will also receive financial training from the next few weeks, as the Government Delegation has already carried out the procedures with the Bank of Spain to do so.
