The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, encouraged all Galician feminist associations and non-profit organizations to apply for the grants called by the Ministry of Equality for projects to eradicate gender violence and trafficking. In total, the two calls for proposals total a total of 14 million euros of investment at national level. Pedro Blanco highlighted this aid, highlighting its importance in the Government’s fight against all forms of violence against women, “one of the most important commitments that the Executive of Pedro Sánchez has”.
On the one hand, the Ministry of Equality allocates EUR 7 million to grants for awareness, prevention, awareness-raising, research and innovation programmes and projects for the eradication of various forms of violence against women in 2024. The call aims to prevent violence against women and spread the values of equality, diversity and tolerance.
The aid is in line with the measures included in the State Pact against gender violence. In particular, they are intended to carry out actions aimed at sensitizing the whole society about the damage caused by inequality and violent behavior, and to help raise awareness about the magnitude of the problem of violence against women and its consequences, with special emphasis on youth.
This is the third call for these grants, which are managed through the Government Delegation against Gender Violence and are granted to entities of a private non-profit legal nature. The resolution, with all the details, is available on the website of the Government Delegation against Gender Violence.
The deadline for submitting applications is 15 working days, starting from 1 April at 00:01 hours, and until 19 April at 23:59 hours. All the documentation necessary to submit the applications will be formalized exclusively by electronic means.
On the other hand, Equality allocates another 7 million euros to fund trafficking projects, aimed at providing comprehensive support to trafficked women and girls for the purpose of sexual exploitation and their underage or disabled children.
The call for 2024 is managed through the Government Delegation against Gender Violence. The purpose of this aid is to finance itineraries of comprehensive assistance, which include measures of care, protection, subsistence and reparation of the victims, regardless of their administrative situation and whether or not they benefited from the period of restoration and reflection.
They will also be used for services such as detection devices for potential victims (mobile units, care phones, delivery of equipment, visits to clubs and flats etc. )/ etc. ), information and advice, psychosocial care, health care, legal support, support of other resources and/or insertion
sociolaboral, including training activities, when they are not part of a comprehensive itinerary.
On the other hand, these grants may be used to address situations of special vulnerability, when actions are proposed that motivate the detection and care of underage victims, foreign women in an irregular situation, applicants for international protection, victims with disabilities and with mental health problems, among others.
Private non-profit legal entities may be beneficiaries of subsidies, but in this case they must have state or, at the very least, supra-autonomous implementation. The resolution, with all the details, is available on the website of the Government Delegation against Gender Violence. The deadline for submitting applications ends at 23:59 hours on April 24. All the documentation necessary to submit the applications will be formalized exclusively by electronic means.
