The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, welcomed the new director of the Public Service of State Employment in the province, Andrés Ibáñez Ramos, highlighting the good unemployment data recorded by Lugo, with 321 fewer redundancies than in February, the largest drop in unemployment in Galicia.
The building of the Subdelegation hosted the meeting in which they exchanged impressions and information on the operation of the offices in the province of Lugo, sharing the effectiveness of the public employment policies of the Government in terms of reducing unemployment and the need for social protection of benefits. “The Government’s commitment to Lugo is clear and necessary, since the processing of unemployment benefits in the province amounts to an annual amount of 109 million euros, which means a great deal of effort and requires constant attention and contact with people.”
The deputy delegate congratulated the new director after the promotion of the previous head, Estefanía Pita, who now coordinates this agency throughout the Galician territory. “I am convinced that she will do a great job, like her predecessor, because the daily workload of the SEPE offices requires efficient and committed professionals, and the truth is that we are lucky to have a team of workers involved who will now have a director who will mark the road map always thinking about the improvement of this public service indispensable for citizenship,” said the deputy delegate.
In addition, Rodríguez recalled that the Government is modernizing the facilities that provide this service, such as the recent renovation of the building in which the offices of Lugo city are now located.
Experience
Andrés Ibáñez Ramos holds a degree in Law from the Universidade da Coruña, specializing in inspection activities. He highlights his experience in providing public service, holding the position of Inspector of Labor and Social Security of Lanas Palmas since 2018.
In this time, he developed control functions over activities in various sectors such as hospitality, agriculture, or wind farms, among others. In addition, it emphasizes its desire for permanent contact with other agents and institutions, seeking for example agreements with different companies or controlling situations of foreigners in coordination with other agencies.
