The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, gave an account of the announcement included in the Official State Gazette on the tender for the project of execution of the coastal path in the concello of O Vicedo, between Os Castelos and the beach of Fomento, which will be built after the recovery of the transit servitude. The basic tender budget is 311,469.47 euros.
The subdelegate explained that “the project aims to favor the enjoyment for the whole neighborhood of new strips of the Mariña coast, giving continuity to the commitment of both the Concello and the Government to the landscape value of this area, expanding the existing offer of hiking trails, viewpoints and recreational areas.”
This path begins on the Camino de la Fábrica and runs to the junction with the Paseo de Os Castelos, recently built by the General Directorate of Sustainability of the Coast and the Sea on the avenue of Arealonga del concello mariñao. In addition, part of the space on the beach of Fomento was conditioned, which together with the new announcement will allow to continue with the improvement and connection of this stretch of the coast.
The deputy delegate stressed that “we demonstrated with facts that the Government is committed to the conservation and improvement of the coast, with a total investment of more than 2.2 million euros in the province, specifically in the municipalities of Foz, Barreiros, Ribadeo and now O Vicedo”. In this regard, Rodríguez recalled the latest works carried out, such as the 16 km pedestrian path between the Phocensian beaches of Peizás and A Pampillosa, with a cost of 886,500 euros, or the improvements on the beaches of Arealonga and Valea with 900,000 of the Recovery Plan.
