The subdelegate of the Government, Abel Losada, received the lawyers and lawyers of the Platform Dignity Abogacía Pontevedra, framed in the union Venir, to listen to their demands for the improvement of the conditions in which the basic service of free justice is provided in the province of Pontevedra. In addition, it undertook to transmit to the competent ministries the demands that have to do with the State in which it reaches pensions and the approval of a legal statute that regulates this branch of the legal profession.
The Platform spoke for the ludicrous of the financial compensation they receive for their work and the conditions in which they have to lend it, an issue that they have already transferred to the Xunta de Galicia as a competent Administration in our community. It is not only a question of updating the remuneration they receive, but of covering all the costs, their annual updating, the reduction of the bureaucratic burden and the right to conciliation, rest and digital disconnection.
Losada expressed his solidarity with this group, which pays fundamental attention to all people who cannot afford to hire a professional and their defense is attended to with the utmost professionalism, despite the precarious conditions in which the 500 lawyers and lawyers who work on duty in our province work. Last year there were 10,000 cases of free justice in the provincial territory and each year this volume increases, while lawyers and court-appointed lawyers are fewer.
