The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted the historical impulse of the Government of Pedro Sánchez in the state road network of the province of Lugo, with a total investment that exceeds 330 M€ in the last four years. This was confirmed in a visit to the city of Taboada together with the mayor, Roi Rigueira, and the subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, who traveled to the N-540 to value the award for 11 M€ of the rehabilitation of the firm, key to the mobility of the area.
Pedro Blanco stressed that with this bet “we are progressively correcting the deficit that has been dragging on the road network in Lugo for many years due to the neglect and abandonment of previous administrations”, reaffirming that only in conservation and maintenance “more than 214 M€ have been invested since 2019”.
In this line, he reaffirmed two important actions for the province, such as the formalization of a contract of more than 14 M€ for the conservation of roads in Lugo, as well as the award of 11 M€ for the rehabilitation of the firm of the N-540, “a very demanded action that will solve the serious problems of deterioration that it has been dragging.”
In short, the government delegate defended that the boost of investments in Lugo’s roads “reaches levels never seen before, demonstrating with facts that today Lugo and also Galicia have a government that clearly bets on the modernization of our infrastructures, evidencing that they are priority territories in their agenda”.
Of the total investment of 330 M€, Pedro Blanco pointed out that “70 M€ were awarded in the last year in order to increase territorial cohesion, facilitate mobility and enhance road safety, and with this commitment we will continue the next 4 years”, he concluded.
