The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, stressed in the meeting she presided over today in the facilities of the National Police of Lonzas, the effort and brilliant work developed by the National Police in the city of A Coruña. He indicated this during the annual meeting held by the police officers with representatives of the associative and business fabric of the city.
María Rivas wanted to convey a message of confidence in the work of the National Police, before the representation of neighborhood associations, merchants, mothers and fathers, professional associations and representative entities of other groups; and to convey to her that the data endorse the good work of the State Security Forces and Bodies and indicate that, with regard to the calculation of offenses with prison results, the figures are better than those of the previous year.
In this regard, to a subdelegate of the Government, she said that the crime rate in the city continues to be lower than the state average, 1.3% less, and that also, it shows a drop with respect to the previous year.
In her speech at the meeting, María Rivas called for maintaining the level of collaboration and trust in the good work of the National Police and other security agents, because the good data reflect their work but are also the result of the collaboration of all.
The A Coruña Police Station currently has a total of 777 personnel, which represented a 5.14% increase in staff compared to 2018, as a result of the recovery of personnel through budgetary reinforcement and the call for public employment.
The meeting also mentioned the results of the Plan of Coexistence and Improvement of School Security in the Centers, highlighting the participation of 3 out of 4 schools, in the activities programmed in matters such as cybersecurity, bullying, violence against women, addictions, etc.
He reiterated the need to work on prevention and expressed the firm commitment of the Government to security policies, as one of the axes of its action, and made himself available to entities to establish spaces for collaboration and dialogue, as has been done so far.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration and coordination of the National Police with the Local Police, and thanked in this regard the good harmony between the subdelegation and the City Council.
