The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, showed her interest in the project of humanization and improvement of the neighborhood of La Fortaleza in the city of Castroverde, which opts for the funds of the 2% cultural program of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda. In a meeting with the mayor of the town, Xosé María Arias, he got to know first-hand the proposal presented in this new call.
Isabel Rodríguez highlighted “the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez for the architectural recovery and conservation of the province”, indicating that the program mobilized more than 735,000 euros in Lugo to finance actions of rehabilitation of the historical heritage, the Government contributing about 477,000 euros.
In this case, the city of Castroverde chooses to improve this public space through what passes the Primitive Way of Santiago, “an area of special patrimonial relevance through the castle that gives name to the neighborhood and through the passage of the Xacobea route”. The subdelegate said that “we work hand in hand with the municipalities, collecting their proposals to ensure the protection of their patrimonial resources.”
In this regard, Isabel Rodríguez stressed that the commitment of the Government to the conservation and establishment of the heritage is reflected in the increase in the percentage of funding of this program in the call of 2023, rising from 1.5% to 2%, which means 20 million euros more, up to a total of 80 million euros available in the call of this year.
