Ourense, December 15, 2023.- The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Emilio González, has today highlighted the importance of awareness in road safety in the educational centers of the province to sensitize future generations of the need to respect the rules of circulation. He did so after attending the first workshop of "Awareness with the victims of traffic accidents", promoted by the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Ourense, this morning at the Divina Maestro educational center. This training session was also attended by the provincial head of Traffic, David Llorente; the Chief Captain of the Traffic Subsector of the Civil Guard of Ourense, Javier Barja, and the Councilor for Education of the City of Ourense, Tamara Silva.
Emilio González stressed that these activities are part for the first time of the Master Plan for Improving Coexistence in Educational Centers, which is coordinated by the Government Subdelegation in the Province. In addition, they join the activities usually organized by the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Ourense in different educational centers.
As far as these workshops are concerned, the Head Office of Ourense offered the city’s educational centers two types of workshops. The first is an awareness with the victim of a traffic accident, in which a person affected by a traffic accident participates to offer their experience. The second workshop aims to expose the risks of drug and alcohol consumption when driving a vehicle.
To date, 12 sessions of the two road education workshops have been scheduled in the educational centers of the city of Ourense: 4 sessions of the workshop with the victim of a traffic accident and eight sessions related to the consumption of drugs and alcohol.
The one held today at the Divine Teacher College is part of the workshops with road accident victims. This first session was given by Félix González, trainer in the courses of recovery and sensitization of points after crimes against road safety and victim of traffic accident.
