The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, witnessed the signing of the agreement between the National Association of Breeders of Select Cattle of Galician Red Breed (ACRUGA) and the Protected Geographical Indication of Galician Beef, highlighting the importance of this collaboration for the improvement of the livestock industry of the province, “taking another step in the protection and defense of the sector.”
The subdelegate said that with this agreement it will be possible to “develop and enhance the system of production and marketing of quality beef, as well as the breeding, promotion and dissemination of the Rojiza Gallega under the umbrella of the IXP”.
Isabel Rodríguez also stressed that farmers and farmers are the fundamental engine of rural in the province, because “thanks to them and the union of entities, the possibilities of job creation, the transmission of sustainable values and the dynamization of municipalities are consolidated; in this line we will always be at hand to gather their concerns and try to respond to them”.
The deputy delegate recalled that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has made a second payment of 10.6 million euros this month, the largest, of extraordinary drought aid to the livestock sectors, having in the province more than 6,500 of the livestock farms that will receive a total of 5,415,956 euros.
