Manzaneda (Ourense), November 29, 2023.- The Subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Emilio González, highlights the great reception that the second call for the program INECO RuralTic of the Government had in the municipality of Manzaneda. Emilio González highlighted the commitment of the Government to the demographic challenge and the digitalization of the rural environment and the choice of a municipality such as Manzaneda to be the first of the 90 municipalities to participate in this second edition of the program in which the "exit gun" is given.
The deputy delegate of the Government welcomed the digital nomads of Ineco who are displaced in the municipality of Manzaneda since last November 20 in one of the sessions of the program that has taken place this morning in the plenary hall of the city council and in which the mayor of the town, Amiable Fernández, was also present.
Emilio González highlighted that "for municipalities with a smaller population is a great opportunity to end the digital divide and promote social cohesion." In addition, Emilio González stressed that RuralTIC is a program from which small and medium-sized enterprises in the municipalities can also benefit "through advice on new technologies provided by agents who move to the municipality."
This program allows Ineco’s own professionals to make teleworking compatible in small territories of Spain. The municipality of Ourensán thus becomes one of the first six territories where Ineco RuralTIC begins its second edition, which from November and during the coming months will progressively reach 90 Spanish municipalities. Thus, it is expected that six other municipalities of Ourense, Amoeiro, Parada de Sil, Maceda, Bande, A Pobra de Trives and A Mezquita will also join the program.
Digital nomads
Roberto Grano, engineer of roads, channels and Daniel Chantada, technician in industrial robotics, will continue with their usual activity in Ineco remote while supporting this municipality through different digitization workshops.
In the social field, Manzaneda is interested in improving the digital skills of its citizens through the training offered by Ineco RuralTIC in the field of digital communication, email, instant messaging, online banking and shopping, administrative procedures, Internet security, etc.
In its area of economic development, Ineco’s RuralTIC program will allow digital nomads to support local SMEs with workshops on technology for small businesses, digital positioning and electronic processing, among others.
Ineco RuralTIC
Its objective is to contribute to the social and economic digitalization of society living in rural environments, thus breaking down the possible barriers that keep these centers away from new technologies. In this way, we can ensure that the population can maintain communication with relatives in isolated areas or carry out administrative procedures through a mobile device.
This initiative is based on two fundamental axes, on the one hand social digitalization and on the other economic digitalization.
In terms of social digitization, agents provide training and support in the use of new technologies to residents, with special attention to the elderly population. The staff of Ineco develops different face-to-face workshops, such as the management of the online service for the execution of administrative procedures: medical appointment management or electronic banking.
In addition, they also provide training to learn about aspects of Internet security or digital footprint and offer personalized attention according to the specific needs of the participants.
The second axis, economic digitization, provides support and advice to the rural business fabric, through digital positioning, with support to the creation of online services that can improve the activity of SMEs, such as the opening of a website or the use of profiles in Social Networks for positioning in the digital world.
