The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, held today in the subdelegation building a meeting with the mayor of Fene, Juventino Trigo, to discuss various issues related to the municipality.
The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Development Area, Ana Quintairos; the Head of Road Demarcation, Ángel González; the Head of the Conservation Area, Francisco Prego; the Councilor for Security, Alejandra Permuy; the Councilor for Urbanism and Works, Manuel Polo and the Manager of the SEA, Beatriz Sestayo.
The Deputy Delegate of the Government and the Mayor of Fene discussed the advances in the agreement between the Administrator of Railway Infrastructures and the City of Fene for the suppression of the improper passage of the P.K. 33/910 on the Betanzos-Ferrol Line, through the construction of a pedestrian walkway on the railway.
In 2022, after the previous study of alternatives, the city of Fene and ADIF agreed on the option chosen according to the technical analysis, consisting of a 14-meter pedestrian walkway that ends at one of its ends in an elevator and stairs, instead of slopes, to minimize the affection to the environment and the surrounding houses. The drafting of the partnership agreement prior to approval by both agencies is currently being finalized.
In the area of state-owned roads, after the improvement of road safety through the implementation of a concrete barrier on the axis of the N-651 road in the stretch of the Santa Ana curves, in the PPKK 28+300 to 29+170, the previously existing left turn was restored through a central rail at the request of the City of Fene. The mayor of Fene and the representatives of the State Road Demarcation in Galicia, confirmed that with these actions the accident on this stretch of road that in previous times was the subject of several accidents with fatalities was significantly reduced.
The meeting analyzed the requests of the city council to improve the urban section of the N-651, as it passes through the municipality. Fene City Council outlined the need to establish a safe pedestrian itinerary on both sides of the N-651 state road between PPKK 29+200 and 30+100. In this stretch, at present, there is no path or platform reserved for pedestrian traffic so that the pawns of this area are forced to move along the roadside.
Additionally, the possibility of installing a new secure pedestrian crossing, through traffic lights with pushbutton, in the environment of the current Civil Guard headquarters (PK 29+420 approx.) was discussed. as well as advance in the processing of the project of implementation of a new roundabout in the PK 29+160, in the stretch of the curves of Santa Ana. For its part, the Road Demarcation will study these needs and municipal proposals, in order to be able to articulate, together with the City of Fene, the possible actions to improve road safety in this area
They also examined the situation of the new Health Center of Fene, which is pending the cession of land by the SEPES, and the resolution and completion of the second phase of the Industrial Estate of Vilar do Colo.
In this regard, Beatriz Sestayo, Manager of SEA – SEPES, informed the City of Fene of the disposition to agree the channels of collaboration for the cession of SEPES lands for purposes of general interest for the City of Fene. Within this collaboration, the study of land transfer for the expansion of the health center of Fene takes special importance, for this purpose the Manager of SEA proposed to maintain a meeting with the neighbors affected by this expansion.
The representative of SEA also pointed out that they have been in the recovery of the roads forgotten for years, in order to identify the soil of the Fene Public Company, both for industrial use and for housing use, also promoting the urbanization of the block Q of the industrial estate that the public entity has in the city of Fene; in that sense information was advanced on the steps taken to resolve it, among others, the identification of the debts existing between the administrations and the pending actions in the delimitation zone.
In order to continue advancing in the final resolution, he proposed that the actions be done through protocols or collaboration agreements, and also invite the city of Cabanas to join in those issues that are affected, as in the case of the industrial estate of Vilar do Colo .
Finally, the deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, and the mayor of Fene, Juventino Trigo agreed to keep a follow-up of the issues dealt with in the meeting, with the aim of moving forward in its resolution.
