The deputy delegate of the Government in office of Pontevedra, María Isabel Alonso, presided this morning the Local Security Xunta of the City Council of Vilanova de Arousa, together with the mayor of the town, Gonzalo Durán. The provincial chief colonel of the Civil Guard, Simón Venzal, and other officials of the Local Police and municipal security also attended.
After analyzing the data gathered by the main commanders of the State Security Forces and Corps in the province, it is observed that the prison infractions in the city hall were reduced by 6.27% with respect to the year 2022 during the first eight months of the year.
The biggest drop occurs in crimes against collective security - such as theft or robbery - which fell by 48% with respect to the previous year, and in administrative infractions - small penalties related to drugs, possession of weapons, etc. - which experience a year-on-year decrease of 35%. Likewise, the crime clarification rate stands at 50 percent.
In terms of crimes against heritage and against people, we can see figures similar to 2022. In general terms, everything indicates that the activity of litigation is scarce and Vilanova is a safe locality, since from January to August 2023, less than one prison infraction per day was recorded in the municipality.
