Oye (Ourense), October 6, 2023.- The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Ourense, Emilio González, explained that the city of Oye receives more than 70 thousand euros to alleviate this damage in infrastructure, equipment and facilities and services owned by the municipality that caused the fires of July 2022. The project with a 50% aid consists of the repair of forests of roads damaged by the fires in the surroundings of Bousés, Videferre and San Cibrao.
The Ministry of Territorial Policy published in the Official State Gazette on December 21, 2022 a resolution approving a call for aid for damages to municipal infrastructures and provincial and island road networks in areas declared as seriously affected by a civil protection emergency in the territory affected as a result of the forest fires that occurred in the months of June, July and August 2022.
In the province of Ourense, the Ministry of Territorial Policy helps with 182,253 euros that go to the municipalities of Carballeda de Valdeorras, Oi⦅⦆, O Barco de Valdeorras and Rubiá.
Emilio González, together with the mayor of Oi⦅⦆ ,Ana María Villarino, and the head of the Civil Protection Unit of the subdelegation of the Government, Brais Pérez González, recalled the fires that devastated more than 10,500 hectares last July 2022 in Valdeorras. The fire burned hundreds of homes and buildings, as well as the entire surrounding ecosystem.
Institutional visit
The subdelegate valued the aid of more than 251 thousand euros that Oi⦅⦆ receives so that local entities move towards a low-carbon economy improving energy efficiency through the renovation of their lighting.
Likewise, the city council is one of the beneficiaries of the UNICO-Broadband Program within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, which will benefit 52 population centers and 67 real estate units with an investment of more than 16 thousand euros.
