The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, traveled today to the store Alita Cómics in Santiago de Compostela to add value to the Cultural Bonus, which comes from extending its call until October 31 with the aim of promoting and facilitating maximum participation among young people in the program.
The bonus, promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Sport, provides 400 euros to boys and girls who turn 18 this year to spend on different cultural products with the aim of integrating culture into their daily lives through the consumption of this type of products. It can be requested until October 31 on the website www.bonoculturajoven.gob.es
María Rivas wanted to visit this bookstore that is attached to this program to publicize this opportunity to “consume culture” among young people who still do not know about the existence of this bonus. “The Government is carrying out an important promotional work so that nobody is left without this extra-daily possibility that today’s girls and boys have.” The bonus can be requested on the page web www.bonoculturajoven.gob.es
As the subdelegate said, out of the total of 9,751 boys and girls of 18 in the province of A Coruña, 5,397 are already benefiting from this initiative, which means a total of 2,158,800 euros invested. In addition, 21,414 purchases were made in the amount of 817,917.40 euros. “This is an important economic injection for the cultural industry, precisely one of the objectives pursued by the Government with this initiative,” said María Rivas.
“Of course, it would be very good news for each of those 9,751 boys and girls to apply for their cultural voucher, which would also be a nice way to celebrate their majority,” added the deputy delegate.
So far in the province of A Coruña, there are 90 establishments adhering to the Cultural Voucher, among them bookstores, shops specializing in comics, music and movie theaters.
María Rivas stressed that this October 31 also ends the deadline for all those who turned 18 in 2022 “If you still have an unspent amount of your voucher, it is important that you remember that you have to do it now while your voucher is in force and you have that money available,” said the deputy delegate.
Also the entities interested in being part of the program have until October 31 to register through the following link https://entidades-adheridas.bonoculturajoven.gob.es/.
About the cultural bonus
From the granting of the aid, the beneficiaries have one year to use the 400 euros in cultural products or services in the affiliated establishments, which already exceed 3,000 throughout Spain.
The Cultural Voucher works with a prepaid card that beneficiaries can have in virtual format on their mobile device or in physical format that they will receive at home.
With this card they can enjoy cultural experiences and products, which are divided into three sections to favor diversification between the different cultural sectors, with the following distribution:
- 100 euros for physical products, for example books, press or discs
-100 euros for digital products: digital press, podcast, online video games
- 200 euros for performing arts: theater, opera, cinema, dance, museums.
