The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez with the Galician primary sector and announced that 12,609 farmers will begin to receive in the month of October the € 10,384,670 that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food allocates to Galicia in extraordinary direct aid to face the adverse effects of the drought and the war in Ukraine.
Pedro Blanco made this announcement during his visit this morning to the City of Rodeiro. For the government delegate, “this extraordinary support to the Galician countryside to compensate for the increase in production costs caused by drought and war, shows that the Government of Spain does not forget the farmers of Galicia and acts diligently so that in this difficult scenario the aid passes as soon as possible from the paper to the balance of the farms”. The contributions are granted directly to the producers benefiting from aid associated with livestock farming under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of 2022.
Pedro Blanco took the opportunity to remember that, in addition to this extraordinary game, “the National Plan of response to the consequences of the war has already left in Galicia 67 million euros of support to livestock farms”. “In Rodeiro,” he added, “there remained more than 1.7 million corresponding to this plan, which in the regions of Deza and Tabeirós Terra de Montes reached almost 7 million.” “These are unprecedented and exceptional figures to overcome an equally exceptional situation,” he said.
The government delegate in Galicia met with the mayor of Rodeiro, José Luis Camiñas, and with different members of the local government with whom he supervised different projects of state competence that are being executed in the municipality and offered “at hand of the Government to continue collaborating with Rodeiro and with all the small municipalities of Galicia”.
Thus, he explained that the digitization plans developed through the Single Plan will bring high-speed internet to 1,566 homes and businesses in the municipality. He also recalled that Rodeiro can also benefit from the Single Plan - Rural Demand, with satellite connections at a price of 35 euros per month.
Two energy efficiency projects through the IDAE were also financed with the support of the Government in the city of Rodeiro. The first with almost 100,000 euros of investment and the second, managed by the Provincial Council of Pontevedra with 1.2 million from the DUS5000 program of the Government Recovery Plan, which will allow to continue installing sustainable lighting in this and ten other municipalities of the province.
