The deputy delegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, today fired the chief commissioner of the province of Lugo, José María Esteban, who leaves after reaching retirement age. Isabel Rodríguez thanked the work done in these 6 years in the Lucense Police Station, where she “ensured citizen security and for transmitting and bringing the values of the police force to the new generations.”
At the meeting, the deputy delegate told him that the body “is going to miss a great professional and a great person, committed to his work and to the lucenses of the province.” Isabel Rodríguez showed her satisfaction for all the work done these years, especially these last ones, complicated by the pandemic, but very grateful for the actions and work that came to carry out the whole body under the orders of the commissioner.
Long professional career
Born in Madrid in 1968, he has a degree in Criminology and has been active since 1983, passing through many destinations such as the Basque Country, Asturias or Navarre. Since 2018, he has been a curator in Lugo, and in 2021 he became the city’s chief curator. He led numerous positions and responsibilities within the body, which were recognized with more than 50 congratulations and various decorations and distinctions, among which stand out the Medal for Dedication to Police Service or the Cross to Merit of the Civil Guard with White Badge.
