The deputy delegate of the Government, María Rivas, went today to the city of Rianxo to coordinate with the mayor Julián Bustelo the security device of the festivities of Guadalupe that will be held from 8 to 15 September.
The subdelegate took advantage of her visit to the municipality to value the investments that, thanks to the Recovery Plan, the Government carried out in recent years in the municipality. Among them stands out the Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings (Pirep) which, endowed with 978,710 euros, will allow to recover the historic Pazo de Martelo that currently houses the municipal library.
María Rivas also recalled the aid for energy efficiency, 798.716 euros that allowed the replacement of practically all the luminaire of the city council with the consequent saving in the funds of the municipal coffers.
The Government’s deputy delegate also highlighted the Government’s effort to bring broadband to Rianxo’s 194 homes and businesses, an action that had an investment of 36,848 euros within the UNICO Program of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
In addition, María Rivas stressed the investment of 48,813, 63 euros made by the Government in the matter of the State Pact Against Gender Violence which aims to promote measures to identify and eradicate sexist behaviors in society.
Investments in the Barbanza region
The Government’s deputy delegate also took advantage of her visit to Rianxo to highlight the Government’s investments in the Barbanza region, which already exceed 34.4 million euros.
María Rivas stressed that the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, allocated 6.4 million euros to the region with the aim of moving towards a more sustainable and modern tourism and promoting the digitalization of the sector.
María Rivas recalled that the Community of Municipalities of Barbanza, of which the City of Rianxo is part along with those of Boiro, A Pobra and Ribeira, obtained 976.800 euros within the initiative ‘Experiential Traslatio. Route Mar de Arousa river Ulla’, destined to digitize and modernize the local entities that are part of the Network of Intelligent Tourist Destinations of the Camino de Santiago to improve the attention and experience of the pilgrim in his journey.
In this same vein, María Rivas highlighted the 1.5 million euros granted to the Commonwealth for the development of its Tourism Sustainability Plan, which aims to strengthen the offer of active tourism through the enogastronomical offer of the region.
The subdelegate also wanted to highlight the investments made in the City of Ribeira, amounting to a total of 4.1 M euros, to improve the safety and quality of life of the municipality. This investment is divided into 3,1M euros from the Ministry of Interior, which were destined to the construction of a new police station to strengthen and guarantee security services, and 1M euros from the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda for sustainable mobility actions that favor the quality of life of the municipality.
Local Security Board
The deputy delegate of the Government, together with Mayor Julián Bustelo, chaired the local security board to coordinate with the security forces and bodies the device that will be deployed during the celebration of the Festivities of Guadalupe from September 8 to 15 . Support will be provided for patrols of the Civil Guard, Civil Traffic Guard and Maritime Rescue.
María Rivas stressed the collaboration “on the part of this subdelegation of the Government so that the festivities develop with maximum tranquility and ensure that both the neighbors of Rianxo and all those who come to visit can enjoy to the fullest during those days”.
The festivities of Rianxo will also have a violet point in which information will be received against any type of male violence and which can be used to request help if necessary.
