The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, today in Cervo finalized the security device for the Fiesta de la Maruxaina 2023, which will be held on August 12 in San Cibrao. The deputy delegate and the mayor of Cervo, Dolores García, agreed in the Local Security Xunta held in the House of the City Council to reinforce with troops to the Marignan locality to guarantee citizen security. Thus, the representative of the Government in the province offered the full collaboration of the State Security Bodies and Forces to avoid any incident and pointed out that the prevention and actions against sexist aggressions will be intensified, in addition to a violet dot being available. In this regard, he said that on the part of the Benemérita and Traffic a total of 70 agents will be deployed during the weekend.
During the meeting, Isabel Rodríguez stressed the importance of coordination between the Civil Guard, the Local Police, emergency services and private security to achieve greater effectiveness in the prevention and prosecution of crime, and also recalled the fundamental role of citizen collaboration “so that everyone can enjoy the traditional Fiesta de la Maruxaina”. Special attention will also be paid on Saturday, when a greater influx of people from different parts of the province and the Community is expected.
The subdelegate invited “to enjoy these days of festive joy in an intense way, but also in a responsible way and guided by respect for coexistence”.
In addition, during the meeting, the main indicators on citizen security were reviewed, noting that the municipality continues to have levels of misdemeanours and crimes well below the regional and national provincial average. The Local Security Board was attended by those responsible for the Burela Company of the Civil Guard, the Autonomous Police, Local Police, Traffic, Emergencies and municipal councillors.
