The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, met with Alfonso Blanco, president of the Audiovisual Cluster of Galicia and CIELO of the production company “Portocabo” to whom he committed the support of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to consolidate “the great moment of the Spanish audiovisual sector and, specifically, the Galician”. At a meeting held in the Government Delegation, Pedro Blanco and Alfonso Blanco reviewed the measures promoted by the Executive to modernize the sector, promote professional qualification and digitization of the entire chain, from creation to exhibition.
Among the main measures, the delegate pointed out that the Government raised this year the Film Support Fund by 52.8% to add 107 million euros, exceeding for the first time the horizon of 100 million euros demanded by the sector. And he said that this year’s call for the production of feature films has just been published, with a budget of 62 million euros and a 10% increase over the previous year. The delegate recalled that in last year’s call up to six audiovisual companies in Galicia received 2.5 million euros to produce their feature films.
In the area of the exhibition, the delegate stressed that this Government established its own line of aid for cinemas, which has already left half a million euros in support in Galicia, and that it has just been launched on the initiative “Senior Cinema”, which facilitates attendance at cinemas for people over 65 years of age at a price of 2.5 euros per session.
Collaboration in the series “Rape”
The Government delegate transferred to Alfonso Blanco the collaboration of the Government Delegation and the rest of the State Administration in Galicia for the recording of the new season of the series “Rape”, “which will take Galicia again to television screens around the world”. He recalled that, in collaboration with the Command of the Civil Guard of A Coruña, he joined in the second season to Armada, allowing it to be recorded for the first time inside the Military Arseal of Ferrol.
