The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, reaffirmed today in Monforte de Lemos the support of the Government to the cultural sector of the province, allocating 928,000 euros with the Young Cultural Bonus. “We reinforce and promote the recovery of an industry fundamental to the economy and employment in Galicia, which accounts for 3% of the Galician GDP and which, undoubtedly, is one of the strengths we have as a country,” said the subdelegate during the visit to the two establishments adhered to the program, the Pelayo and Entrelibros libraries, to check at first the impact of this initiative and share sensations with their managers.
Isabel Rodríguez, accompanied by the deputy mayor, Gloria Prada, valued the good progress of the program of the Ministry of Culture and Sport “from which 722 Lucenses already benefited in this second edition, 31.12% of the possible applicants from the province.” In this sense, he encouraged the 2,320 young people and girls of 18 years to apply for the Bonus “and thus enjoy the advantages of 400 euros destined to the consumption of culture”.
He also stressed that investing in culture “is investing in education, training and the consolidation of an advanced society”, which is why he said that he hopes that before the end of September all possible beneficiaries will apply for the bonus “and take advantage of this magnificent opportunity now that we are in summer, with a wide, varied and quality cultural offer”.
In Lugo, there are about twenty establishments registered in eight municipalities, among them different bookshops, cinemas, digital and online stores or places specialized in music, among others. With respect to the affiliated businesses, the subdelegate recalled that the deadline is still open and invited the companies and #cultural entities of the province to join by registering in the https://entidades-adheridas.bonoculturajoven.gob.es/.
