The Government Subdelegation begins the organization of the General Elections to guarantee the vote of 337,716 people in Lugo
The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, today announced the planning of the Subdelegation of the Government in the province for the next General Elections of July 23 . About 337,716 people will be able to participate and vote in this election, with 7,930 new voters who will do so for the first time and 69,086 who will be able to do so from abroad. The institution allocates a budget of 555,833 euros to the costs arising from the logistics and security of this electoral process, establishing the necessary means to allow the exercise of the right to vote and the transmission of data and figures in terms of participation and scrutiny.
In these elections, Lugo will decide a total of 4 deputies, and 4 senators. In total, 10 nominations to Congress and 9 to the Senate were proclaimed.
In terms of media, in the province there will be 533 tables and booths distributed in 400 polling stations. 1,066 ballot boxes will be made available to the citizens in which they will be able to deposit their vote. In addition, about 3.4 million ballot papers were printed for Congress and 340,000 for the Senate. These tables will be attended by 1,599 members and 450 representatives of the Administration who will be responsible for verifying the correct opening of the tables, resolving incidents and collecting the data of participation and the vote count.
In addition, during the day of the elections, in the Subdelegation of Lugo there will be staff to solve any incident that may arise in collaboration with the Xunta Electoral. In this regard, Isabel Rodríguez highlighted the deployment of State Security Forces and Local Police for the free exercise of the right to vote, which will have a total of 1,088 troops.
