Pontevedra, June 30, 2023.- The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Maica Larriba, today encouraged the nearly nine thousand young people and girls of the province of Pontevedra who throughout this 2023 turn 18 years of age to apply for the Cultural Voucher, an aid from the Government of Spain to promote the habit of consumption of culture in all its variants among the newest people. He did so in Lalín, where he visited the Librería Álvarez, one of the most emblematic of the town of Dezá. During the visit, this establishment adhered to the initiative, exchanged impressions with its manager, Ángel Álvarez, both coinciding in the interest that the Cultural Bond is awakening and in its positive impact, both for the promotion of the consumption of culture among youth, and for the economic injection that it represents for the sector.
The subdelegate of the Government recalled that the deadline for requesting it the Youth Cultural Voucher 2023 will be open until September 30 through the web bonoculturajoven.gob.es. Once granted, the beneficiaries will have one year to spend the 400 euros that this aid contemplates in acquiring and enjoying cultural products and #activity.
This second edition can be requested by all young women and girls born in 2005. It is divided into three sections, to encourage discovery and access to various cultural expressions: 100 euros for physical products, for example, books, press or discs. 100 euros for digital products, such as digital press, podcast, online video games and virtual platforms and 200 euros for live arts: theater, opera, cinema, dance, or museums.
The subdelegate recalled that the one of 2023 is the second call after the success of the one of 2022, in which 56% of the boys and girls of Pontevedra who turned 18 last year participated. In particular, second, the latest data, 4,861 bonds were granted to young people and young people from Pontevedra, who carried out 14,560 operations with a value of 567,700 euros, “which reflects not only the great use that young people make of this initiative, but also the great economic boost that it represents for the cultural sector.”
Maica Larriba recalled that “in addition to boys and girls, it is also necessary that companies providing cultural services are registered on the website of the Ministry of Culture, because the voucher does not work in non-affiliated companies”. The deadline for entities to join is also open until September 30, 2023.
The subdelegate explained that in the last edition there were 105 entities of the province adhered and, therefore, encouraged “the most establishments and companies in the cultural field adhere to the Cultural Bond, because I insist, it is an initiative that promotes the culture of youth and helps the cultural world economically in a very important way”.
In this line he pointed out that “for the cultural sector of the province the more than 3.5 million euros of subsidy for these nine thousand young people and girls are very good news and a great boost for its economy”.
