The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, today stressed the total availability and collaboration on the part of the Subdelegation of the Government in A Coruña to guarantee security in the concert O Son do Camiño that is held from June 15 to 17 in the capital of Galicia and to which more than 40,000 people are expected to attend each day.
The extraordinary Xunta Local Security was held in the Green Room of the Pazo de Raxoi and was co-chaired by the Deputy Delegate of the Government and the Mayor, Xosé Sánchez Bugallo. The meeting was also attended by the Councilor for Mobility, Gonzalo Muíños; the provincial commissioner of the National Police, Fernando Martínez; the Chief Commissioner of Santiago, Antonio Felipe Guzmán Moreno; the Chief Commissioner of the Seconded National Police, the Chief Inspector of the Local Citizen Security Brigade, Marta García and the Lieutenant of the Civil Guard, Manuel Julio Meléndez.
At today’s meeting it was agreed to strengthen the security and surveillance of both the accesses to the enclosure and the deterrent parking spaces that will be enabled in San Lázaro and in the multipurpose Fonte del Sar.
At the meeting, Rivas stressed the total willingness to collaborate with the City Council from the Subdelegation and from the State Security Forces and Bodies to establish, in a coordinated manner with the Local Police and municipal services, the necessary security devices that affect mobility.
At the meeting, it was also agreed to urge the event’s organizing company to establish violet dots inside the venue, as safe spaces that any attendee can go to.
In this regard, María Rivas recalled that the City of Santigo is attached to the Viogén system of comprehensive follow-up of cases of male violence led by the Ministry of the Interior. It also has a coordination table to combat gender violence in which the areas involved, directly or indirectly, in the battle against this social scourge are represented.
