The Government Subdelegation in Lugo this week finalizes the logistical and security devices to ensure that 270,272 voters can exercise their right to vote in the municipal elections next Sunday. In these elections, Lugo will name the 713 seats of councillors and councillors of the 67 municipalities; and 25 seats of deputies in the provincial deputation of Lugo.
The Subdelegation of the Government in the province allocates 527,000 euros to the costs derived from the logistics and security of this electoral process. A significant part of this amount will be used to pay compensation to the more than 3,100 people who work in the preparation and development of the election day. Among them, the 1,602 members of polling stations; the 406 representatives of the administration, responsible for the transmission of data at the polling stations; and the 1,126 members of the Security Forces and Corps that will ensure the normality of the day.
In these days the Subdelegation of the Government works, in collaboration with the local entities of Galicia, to finalize the locations where the votes will be held, up to 393 locations throughout the province, which will house 533 tables and 393 booths. During the last weeks, the necessary documentation was prepared at each of the tables (minutes, instructions, etc.), and all the stationery (envelopes and ballot papers) that must be accessible on Sunday in each of the electoral colleges of the province of Lugo.
At the same time, the Subdelegation participated in two simulations of the data transmission system used by the representatives of the Administration to transfer data on the opening and closing of tables, advances in participation and final scrutiny. The last of these simulations was held this Monday throughout Spain.
