The Digital Kit program, managed by Red.es, an entity attached to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation through the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, is already driving the digitalization of 2,400 SMEs in the province of Lugo, which means more than 9 million euros from the Government’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. This has been advanced today by the government delegate in Galicia, José Miñones, and the director general of Red.es, Alberto Martínez Lacambra, during a visit to the city of Monforte de Lemos (Lugo), in which they have been accompanied by the subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez.
Both have been received by the mayor of Monforte, José Tomé, and have held a meeting with 30 businesswomen and businesswomen from the region of Lemos to evaluate the impact of the Kit Digital program and the digital transformation lines of rural SMEs launched by the Government of Pedro Sánchez.
During the meeting, they recalled the support of the Digital Kit program may be requested until December 2024. The amounts of aid can be € 12,000, € 6,000 and € 2,000 depending on the number of employees that the company or self-employed has.
To date, this Program has awarded 14,000 digital bonds in Galicia, which means that around 65 million euros of the Recovery Plan have already reached the SMEs of Galicia to implement basic digitization solutions.
In the province of Lugo, some 2,400 digital bonds have now been awarded, which means that more than 9 million euros of European funds have already reached Lugo’s SMEs to implement their digital solutions.
The CEO of Red.es has also encouraged technology companies in the province to join as digitizing agents in this call. These agents are responsible for executing the digitization solutions in the companies that have received the help of Kit Digital.
In Galicia there are currently 561 digitizing agents, which are SMEs of the Galician technological sector. These companies have already signed 8,200 digitization contracts, which is a significant turnover. Precisely, the meeting held today involved representatives of two ICT companies located in the region of Lemos and which are already part of this Program.
Office Accelerates SMEs of the Provincial Council of Lugo
The government delegate and the CEO of Red.es highlighted the role of the Acelera SME offices in promoting the digitalization of companies in rural areas and set an example to the Provincial Council of Lugo, which has been part of this network since last year.
Accelerating SMEs is a program that seeks to help companies, SMEs and autonomous and entrepreneurial people in their digital transformation and, with it, promote the transformation of the economy and society towards a digital environment. Red.es works on the deployment of these offices throughout the territory
The last call for aid, from 2022, was aimed at municipalities with populations of less than 20,000 inhabitants, with the aim of working in these municipalities and promoting the adoption of digital technologies there.
Thanks to this program, the Provincial Council is offering free support and advice, both physically and digitally, to small and medium-sized enterprises in the province in the field of digital transformation. They also carry out awareness-raising and support activities in this area.
