The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, advanced today that Lugo is the province of Spain with more municipalities adhered the “Administration near you”, with a total of 45 Lucan municipalities, the plan of the Government that brings administrative and digital procedures to the neighborhood. “These figures reflect the success of this state program, with which we benefit the almost 100,000 neighbors who live in these rural localities and who will have a useful and nearby service to carry out their efforts with the State Administration,” said the subdelegate, who reported on the news of this program during the inauguration at the UNED of the Day “A Administration a una clic, en tu móvil”, organized by the Government Subdelegation on the occasion of the “Open Administration Week 2023”.
Isabel Rodríguez expressed her satisfaction for the good reception of this initiative with which public officials carried out more than 500 procedures, between Digital Certificates and Permanent Cl@ves, to the attendees of the sessions organized in 59 localities. To date, 45 municipalities of the 59 of the province that participated, 76% of the total, signed the agreement with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) to receive this program.
“A fundamental tool to fight against depopulation, especially in a province as scattered and aged as Lugo, eliminating social inequalities, improving social cohesion and avoiding displacements to the city,” stressed the subdelegate during her speech, in which she explained that this agreement will allow these municipalities, between 500 and 8,000 inhabitants, to request visits so that Subdelegation personnel move periodically and carry out in situ the procedures that the citizens demand previously, providing them with the necessary information for each specific case.
“The Government of Spain goes one step further in its commitment to leave no one behind and respond to the new challenges faced by municipalities with a smaller population, making AXE an administration close to people, and defending equal rights and #opportunity wherever you live,” said the deputy delegate. In this respect, Isabel Rodríguez stressed that this program shows the existing need for the administration of the 21st century to be present throughout the province, “because a truly democratic society requires that citizens have strong and quality public services, with maximum transparency in its operation.”
Finally, the deputy delegate thanked the mayors for their support and collaboration in this measure of the Government and encouraged the other municipalities of the province to join the program and not miss the opportunity to facilitate access to public services for their citizens.
