The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, confirmed today in the City of Cospeito the impulse to the energy transition that the Government is carrying out in the small municipalities of the province. “We maintain a clear commitment to the municipality and the neighbors perceive it, allocating aid to municipalities such as Cospeito to improve and modernize basic public services,” said the subdelegate who explained that the town received a contribution of € 220,000 from the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, through the Institute for Diversification and Energy Saving (IDAE), which allowed to renew the outdoor public lighting system of the centers of Muimenta and Feira do Monte.
Isabel Rodríguez traveled this morning to the City of Cospeito to supervise, together with the mayor, Armando Castosa, the investments of the Government in the municipality and know their demands and opinions. Thus, it verified the result of this energy efficiency project financed by the Central Executive with which 404 traditional luminaires were replaced by LED luminaires and 10 electrical panels of these of the nuclei, those of greater population of the municipality, were renewed.
“These actions allow the City to reduce electricity consumption by 74%, saving more than 33,000 euros a year to the municipal coffers, being able to use this money to meet other needs of the citizens,” said Isabel Rodríguez. In this line, he said that in a time of uncertainty such as the current one, derived from the War in Ukraine, which causes the price of light to rise, “this type of initiatives become even more relevant.”
Likewise, the subdelegate pointed out that from the Government “we continue working hand in hand with the municipalities of the province to carry out sustainable urban development in the villas, betting on green models, with more effective, responsible and environmentally friendly consumption”.
High Speed Internet
Isabel Rodríguez advanced the presence of Cospeito in the two calls for digitization of the territory promoted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation within the Recovery Plan. Thanks to this, Cospeito will have high-speed internet, greater than 300mb, in 631 points in which 2,438 homes and companies of the municipality are located.
“We guarantee the connectivity of more than 300 megas to almost the entire territory, in areas where today they do not have this type of coverage, basic for people living in rural areas and to settle new population,” added Isabel Rodríguez.
