The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, and the Mayor of Lugo, Lara Méndez, co-chaired today in the City of Lugo a coordination meeting of the security device for the celebration of the Spanish Motocross Championship, which will take place in the Jorge Prado circuit of the capital of Lucense on February 25 and 26.
Isabel Rodríguez said that the security forces and bodies of the State will collaborate with the device mounted by the organization so that the sporting event takes place with the maximum guarantees of safety for the pilots and fans who will meet during the two days. For the event, a reinforcement of police forces was planned to ensure the safety of the people who will gather in the enclosure and control the access to it.
The meeting was also attended by the Councilor for Sports, Mauricio Repetto; heads of the company Last Lap, organizer of the test; and the Club Moto Park Lugo, entity that manages the track; as well as representatives of the Civil Guard, Traffic Subsector, National Police, Local Police, Firefighters and Civil Protection of the City of Lugo.
After the meeting, the deputy delegate of the Government appealed to all the public that will gather on the motocross track to witness the Spanish Championship “that comply with the safety rules, staying in the spaces limited for spectators”.
Isabel Rodríguez took the opportunity to congratulate the mayor for her great work, “getting Lugo to host for the first time a top-level national race in this modality, which will bring together during the weekend of competition 8,000 fans of the world of motorcycles,” said the deputy delegate.
Lugo is one of the 7 races that make up this year’s edition of the Spanish Motocross Championship, divided into three categories (MX2, MX1 and MX125), in which 120 riders will participate, among which the Lucense rider Jorge Prado stands out, as well as other relevant names such as Rubén Fernández and Yago Martínez.
