The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility continues to make progress in the works to build a new bridge over the Jerte River on the N-110 road, in the municipality of Cabezuela del Valle, province of Cáceres. This is a necessary action to improve road safety and the functionality of this section of the N-110 road, as well as the mobility and accessibility of other infrastructure users.
The works have a budget of 6,532 million euros, and are financed with the European Next Generation funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
Next to the construction of a new bridge over the Jerte River, a new 400 m long stretch of road will be executed on the right bank of the river to link with the existing road route. A new roundabout will also be built to co-ordinate with the new structure.
To advance the works, several blasts are necessary, the first of which is scheduled for this Tuesday, May 20, and will serve as the basis for the construction of the new bridge. Therefore, and in order to guarantee the safety of workers and users, the N-110 will be cut off from traffic in both directions of circulation between km 370 and 372, in the town of Cabezuela del Valle. The cut will last a maximum of one hour, from 11 to 12 o’clock.
The works plan to make two blasts each week until the month of September, which will be programmed according to the needs and the progress of the works. With the programming of the blasts, these affectations will be repeated on the N-110 road.
The following blasts will be carried out in the same conditions, and always within the time frame between 10:00 and 12:00 hours in the morning.
