The Government Delegation in Extremadura, through the Coordination Units and the Unit for Violence Against Women and in collaboration with the Office for Equality of the University of Extremadura, held an information and training cycle for the detection and intervention of victims of gender violence and other forms of violence against women aimed at more than a thousand university students in the region.
Yesterday, the first class was given to students of 2nd Nursing in the city of Plasencia, this time with the director of Legal Medicine of Cáceres, José María Montero.
During the month of October and November in the framework of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25, both institutions organize for the second time these days, after the good acceptance they had last year, aimed at future professionals.
In the university campus of Cáceres they are oriented to the Degree of Nursing, Sports Sciences, Criminology and the Master of Training of Secondary Education Teachers. In the university campus of Badajoz, they are aimed at the Degree of Medicine, the Masters of Psychology and Teaching, and for the Degree of Nursing both in Mérida and in Badajoz.
The aim of these days is to provide professionals involved in the health, educational and legal fields with tools for the early detection of victims of gender-based violence.
Days
The nursing students began on October 8 at the Plasencia campus and on November 11 in Cáceres, the Master in Teacher Training in Secondary Education will begin this training at the University Center of Cáceres. The second will be on October 18, at the Faculty of Teacher Training of Cáceres. By November 11, criminology students will receive this training.
The university campus of Badajoz is scheduled to begin on October 29 with the Master of Teachers, and the University Center of Mérida will be held on November 11 to students of the Degree of Nursing.
The duration of each day will be two hours, given a subject in coordination with the deanship of the different faculties for the training of students.
