The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, attended today the inauguration of the exhibition “The Civil Guard at the service of citizens” that hosts the Congress Palace of Mérida on the occasion of the commemorative events of the Institutional Week of the Civil Guard.
In his speech, the government delegate stressed that the exhibition is a faithful reflection of the example of professionalism and vocation to public service of the personnel of this body. “What we will be able to see in this exhibition is nothing more than the effort and sacrifice of all the men and women civil guards who for 180 years of our history have dedicated the best of their lives to the service of Spain and the Spanish,” he said.
Quintana has thanked Extremadura for choosing to host these commemorative events and has reiterated that the work of the Civil Guard goes beyond the mere function of maintaining order. “It is a service committed to the community, which ensures the well-being and tranquility of all citizens, especially in a region like ours, where proximity and trust are key.”
Therefore, he has insisted that the festivity of his patron in Mérida gives us the opportunity to pay tribute to all the men and women who, day by day, risk their lives to protect us, to those who throughout history have served with dedication and courage in every corner of our country, and especially, in Extremadura.
Finally, the government delegate has invited Extremadura society to visit the exhibition, as well as to join in with all the events planned until October 6 in our region on the occasion of this celebration.
