The Government Delegation in Extremadura and the Government Subdelegation in Cáceres celebrate Open Administration Week from today, June 10 until Friday, June 14. During this week both institutions have different activities scheduled in order to bring their administrations closer to the citizens and promote transparency, accountability and citizen participation.
Open Government Week is an initiative promoted internationally by the Open Government Alliance, which is held annually in all member countries, and this is the sixth edition to be held.
Scheduled activities
The Government Delegation is scheduled for June 12 an activity that consists of knowing the e-government, aimed mainly at unemployed people to carry out online procedures. For 3 hours citizens will be able to get acquainted with the facilities provided by the Administration in a simple and effective way, through the internet.
For its part, the Subdelegation in Cáceres has started today the activities programmed with a road education workshop taught by the Civil Traffic Guard and directed to schoolchildren.
For Tuesday, it has organized a workshop on the use of social networks by the National Police with the aim of raising awareness about the use of social networks, as well as preventing fraud.
The university students, already on Wednesday, will be able to learn about the work carried out by the different departments of the Subdelegation on the occasion of the elections to the European Parliament on 9 June.
Another activity is the celebration of a day of blood extraction and donation, in collaboration with the Blood Bank of Extremadura, in which the population that wishes can participate on Thursday, June 13.
Finally, to close this week of the Open Administration, the National Geographic Institute will give a talk about the services offered by this agency, such as astronomy, cartography, cartographic archive or cartolibrary.
All the activities organized by the Subdelegation of the Government in Cáceres are held at its headquarters.
Penitentiary Center of Cáceres
The Cáceres Penitentiary Center has been chosen together to six other centers to carry out activities within the Open Administration Week.
The main activity that is going to take place are open days and for June 13 they have scheduled a round table on “The different visions of the privacy of freedom”, directed to students of the Faculty of Law, students of the Center of Adult Education Maestro Martín Cisneros and the prison staff. The Magistrate-Judge of Penitentiary Surveillance of Extremadura, the director of the Penitentiary Center of Cáceres and inmates of the center will participate in this round table.
