The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, visited today in Mérida the Civil Guard Traffic School. This meeting is in addition to the round of institutional visits that the delegate is making in the region to learn about the general administration of the State.
Quintana has met with the instructors and students who study at the Traffic School, where he has stated that this is a national reference training center both in the training of agents in road safety and in the recycling of courses.
More than 10,000 agents have passed through this academy and it is currently the teaching cradle for the Civil Traffic Guards. During 2023, 57 courses have been held and 2,461 agents crossed the doors of the academy.
It should be remembered that Mérida will host this year the Institutional Week of the Civil Guard, due to the 65 years of the Merida Traffic Group. The celebration of the Patroness of the Civil Guard is scheduled to begin next Monday, September 30 and will last for a week in which there will be different activities for all audiences and ages.
