The delegate of the Government in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana and the Superior Chief of the National Police, Elisa Fariñas, have presided today in the Building of Cajalmedralejo in Badajoz, the act of delivery of diplomas to officials of the National Police as honorary members and retirees in the year 2023.
The government delegate wanted to recognize on behalf of the Government of Spain, in his own and in that of society the work and example of the agents, “it has always been said that the National Police is important for our country, but Spain would not be Spain without the National Police and the National Police would not be the National Police without people like you.”
During his speech, Quintana reminded all the agents who have not been able to reach retirement, those who have given their lives in an act of service and “a very special memory for those who were victims of terrorist barbarity and that thanks to your effort and the democratic commitment of Spanish society today is, fortunately, something that is part of the past and that should never return to our society”.
The National Police Headquarters has recognized 31 officers of retirement age and distinguished 14 officers as honorary police officers.
This same event was held today at the San Francisco Cultural Complex in the town of Cáceres, presided over by the Government’s subdelegate in Cáceres, José Antonio García and the Provincial Commissioner, Gregorio Valverde.
In total, 10 officers have been recognized, six police officers who have reached retirement age in 2023 and four who have been distinguished as honorary police of the National Police of Cáceres.
