The subdelegate of the Government in Cáceres, José Antonio García, accompanied by the provincial commissioner of Cáceres, Gregorio Valverde, the president of Blood Donors, Jesús Dominguez and the vice-president of the International Police Association, have today presented the collection “Donate your blood” on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the creation of the National Police.
José Antonio García explained that next Monday, April 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., a blood donation collection will be carried out at the Provincial Police Station of Cáceres, where he has invited not only National Police agents but also relatives and neighbors of the city to participate, “it is essential that as much blood be obtained as possible to maintain the level of health we have in Extremadura”.
For his part, the commissioner explained that this is one of the activities they are carrying out this year on the occasion of the 200th Anniversary of the National Police, “the police will always be in all actions of solidarity and support to the citizens.” Likewise, Gregorio Valverde has said that in addition to blood donation, the Police Station will also be able to donate bone marrow that day.
Finally, Jesús Dominguez recalled that Extremadura continues to be the first autonomous community that leads the blood donation in Spain with 20,000 liters per year, in addition to exporting it where it is needed. “Blood must be waiting for the sick and never the sick for blood”, concluded the president of the association.
