The delegate of the Government in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, accompanied by the subdelegate of the Government in Cáceres, José Antonio Garcia, visited today the town of Granadilla to know the investments made.
Since 2020, a series of actions of the Government of Spain has been carried out in Granadilla, amounting to more than five million euros, aimed at reversing the deteriorating situation, as well as eliminating certain security risks for people. At the same time, the partial or total rehabilitation of certain buildings has been addressed to eliminate structural risks and adapt them to their teaching function, either as teaching or exhibition spaces or as residences for PRUEPA students or their teachers.
In Granadilla, the program of Recovery and Educational Use of Abandoned Villages (PRUEPA) is being carried out, promoted by the Ministry of Education and Professional Training and in which the Junta de Extremadura collaborates.
“This program is an example of coordination between administrations; a commitment to the integral education of Spanish students and a mechanism for thousands of schoolchildren to know the wonders of Extremadura and act as ambassadors of our region” José Luis Quintana.
