The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has held a meeting this afternoon in the Moncloa complex with the President of the Envision Group, Ley Zhang, who has announced the start of the construction of the battery giga-factory for electric vehicles in Navalmoral de la Mata (Cáceres) this first half of the year. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu.
Pedro Sánchez valued during the meeting the commitment of the Asian technological multinational with this emblematic industrial project for Spain and Extremadura, and his confidence in the attractive investor of our country in the green transition, reindustrialization and innovation.
Envision’s gigafactory in Navalmoral de la Mata will lead to the creation of 3,000 direct jobs and an investment of around 2.5 billion euros for the manufacture of batteries for electric vehicles.
The President of the Envision Group, Lei Zhang, detailed during the meeting the current state of the development of the project and reinforced the commitment of the multinational with Spain, while thanking the Government for its support.
The company, world leader in green technology, has been one of the beneficiaries of section A of the second edition of the PERTE of the Electric Vehicle, with a total of 300 million euros in aid, of which 200 million euros in grants and the remaining 100 million euros in loans.
