In this regard, the delegate stressed the importance of collaboration between administrations, despite the difficulties that sometimes entail joint actions, but “it is fundamental to solve the problems of citizens”. In this particular case, Mendoza highlighted the important impetus given to this project by the Government of Spain.
“This road is a symbol that represents a new stage for the region of La Siberia,” said the delegate, “a symbol of the commitment of the Government of Spain to territorial cohesion and to truly believe that we must bet on the territory, whatever and whatever conditions they have.” He also recalled that one of the first tourism sustainability plans approved by the Government of Spain for Extremadura was that of La Siberia.
“Sometimes we focus on the data and talk about the investment as if the importance of the actions depends on the numbers. Things are important insofar as they improve the lives of citizens. It is true that we have invested almost 10 million euros in this work; but what is really important are the improvements that they mean for you; more security and less time on the move,” he added.
The works, whose amount exceeds ten million euros, have been cofinanced equally (1/3 of that amount) by the three participating administrations, paying 3,400,460.71 euros, each of them.
Specifically, these are two roads, which form the so-called “Y Reserva del Cijara”, a first one that connects Helechosa de los Montes with Bohonal de los Montes (BA-7101) and, starting from this same road, at the junction called “Boyerizo”, a second road that gives access to Villarta de los Montes (BA-7216).
