The government delegate in Extremadura, Francisco Mendoza, has participated today in the celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Civil Guard Foundation. In his speech, he highlighted the work of a Body that is “perfectly” adapted to the reality of a territory, which needs security for its development. “Without security there is neither freedom nor progress possible, and of course the fight against depopulation needs security,” said the delegate, who also said that we cannot ask citizens to decide to live in rural areas if we cannot guarantee their security.
The delegate also recalled the crime data in Extremadura, which places the region as the safest in Spain. Data that “would not be possible” without the actions of the different divisions of the Civil Guard, among which are the so-called ROCA teams, implemented in recent years, and which have helped reduce the crimes of the countryside, especially in the farms. Likewise, SEPRONA is a reference in the defense of the environment, or of the GEAS and the rescue teams, which we resort to in times of pain and misfortune.
Francisco Mendoza, ended his speech by giving his recognition both to the civil guards that make up these specialized units and to those who travel our geography daily and who “with their only presence give us tranquility”.
