Cáceres, May 2, 2023. Around 400 troops will ensure the safety and good development of the Womad festival, which will be held in the city of Cáceres from May 11 to 14. This has been decided this morning at the Local Security Board, co-chaired by the subdelegate of the Government in Cáceres, José Antonio García and the mayor of the town, Luis Salaya.
The security device will be composed of a total of 95 agents of the National Police, with the presence for the first time of the Public Security Police of Portugal, in addition to other units such as the Central Intervention Unit of Madrid, the Operational Group of Response, Citizen Security and the Information Brigade of the Commissioner of Cáceres.
On the part of the Civil Guard, 38 agents of Citizen Security will participate to which must be added 28 members of the Traffic Sector who will monitor the accesses to the city with alcohol and drug controls.
As for the municipal media, there will be 130 Local Police officers. In addition, 30 Private Security personnel and two firefighting checkpoints of the Provincial Council of Cáceres will be joined.
In terms of health services, the Extremadura Health Service will strengthen the Point of Continuous Care; the Red Cross will have an advanced command post; two basic life support ambulances and approximately 50 technicians and volunteers, finally ARA will add 10 volunteers.
