The government delegate in Extremadura, Francisco Mendoza, participated today in the symbolic placement of the first stone of the rehabilitation works of the Mother of God Convent of Valverde de Leganés, which is financed by the Central Government from 1.5 percent cultural. Specifically, the Government, through the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, will contribute 745,407.66 euros of the million that the work is worth.
The delegate, who accompanied the mayor of the town, Manuel Borrego, highlighted the decision of the Government of Spain to finance the project, which otherwise “would have been very difficult to face”.
“Valverde de Leganés could not afford to lose this important part of its historical heritage and it is clear that this has been understood by all the public institutions that in one way or another have made their contribution so that we reach this moment,” he said.
