The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has received the staff, technical body and directive of the Levante Unión Deportiva, with which she has celebrated her promotion to the First Division. The Levinist bus stopped in front of the headquarters of the Government Delegation in the Temple Square, where it was received by Barnabas.
The delegate stressed that “with this ascent, in the Levantinismo we have buried the legend of the club forged in the anvil of adversity, which immortalized the journalist Paco Gandia”. Barnabas recalled how in the myth of the cat and the palm tree, “we always stop at whether the cat is alive and healthy to be able to climb the palm tree. And we do not stop to think, that what defines the club is the palm tree.” In this sense, he added that “the palm tree is a tree with a fragile appearance, but tremendously elastic and resistant, capable of withstanding all the blows of fate and still standing, like the Levante”.
This promotion, the delegate said, “rewards the club’s ability to resist with an increasingly young and loyal social mass, which has endured the trials of three tough seasons in the Second Division.” In addition, he indicated, the Levante “has all the bases, consolidated social mass and a new stadium remodeled, to give battle in the elite”.
The game in Burgos – he said – “is a metaphor for the club’s almost 116 years of history, going back to the misfortune from the beginning, with the goal in the first minute of play of the Burgos”. “Levante UD didn’t get carried away by fatalism and tied twice to end up winning at the last moment.” It charges, thus, “a debt to karma after that goal of Villalibre with Alavés, in the last minute of the extension of 2023”, he concluded.
