The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has presented together with the Superior Chief of Police of the Valencian Community, Carlos Gajero, the MiDNI application launched by the Ministry of the Interior for the use of the new digital card.
With MiDNI, “the Government of Spain fulfills its word to modernize the public administration so that no one is left behind”. This new identity document - said the delegate - will coexist with the traditional physical format. In addition, its use will be voluntary and “will allow an act as everyday as carrying the ID card always on top to be reinforced with something that almost all of us always carry in our pockets: the mobile phone”.
Thanks to this tool, “from today we can safely prove our identity in all kinds of face-to-face procedures, and it will even serve, when the time comes, to exercise our right to vote.”
The delegate stressed that this launch “is just the beginning.” In 2026, he added, “its full functionality will be achieved and the use of the Internet, electronic signatures and all telematic procedures will also be incorporated.” “It will then be when we talk about a complete digital identity, at the service of citizens, without gaps, without complications and with all the guarantees,” he concluded.
